London is known as the city that never sleeps. It is about 2000 years old and dates back to Roman times. With so much to do and so much to see, you could spend weeks enjoying the city. With that being said, we’ve put together a list of must-do things while visiting the city!

First things first, start your day off by indulging in an English breakfast, and remember that most pubs serve them! There are many different choices and it can be enjoyed with either a tea or a coffee. Not only is this a great way to try some local British food, it will give you lots of energy for the day ahead.

Once you’ve scarfed down your big breakfast, make your way to the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. From here, you can start your very own walking tour, visiting Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and Covent Garden respectively! On foot is the best way to see London and its architecture; you’ll need roughly 2 to 3 hours to see everything. Make sure you get to Buckingham Palace in time to watch the Changing of the Guard, which takes place daily at 11am.

Then, it’s time for some lunch! Take the tube to Camden Town, head to Camden Market and eat the city’s best street food. You could spend your whole afternoon exploring Camden, its market, its canal and/or having a drink at World’s End – a super famous pub in the vicinity that you simply can’t miss. Or, why not visit some of London’s other famous markets, such as Portobello Market or Old Spitalfields Market where you can pick up some cool antiques. If it rains, take shelter in one of London’s museums, most of which are free. They are the city’s treasure and are definitely a good way to get acquainted with British culture and learn a few things while you’re at it!

Your trip to London wouldn’t be complete without a view. For a breath-taking view of London’s skyline and sunset head to Primrose Hill in Regent’s Park. Alternatively, to see London’s finest skyscrapers up-close, and for free, visit Sky Gardens. Here you can sip a cocktail while enjoying the view! P.S. book tickets in advance to avoid queueing.

Finish your day off by visiting Shoreditch: a super vibrant and hip district in East London. While here, check out Brick Lane where you can see amazing street art and eat a quality curry at one of the many curry houses. Fun fact: did you know that curry is one of the nation’s favourite foods? End your day with a few drinks and maybe a boogie in one of Shoreditch’s trendy bars.
