What is the SAT?
This is an exam that is taken by almost all high school students in the United States, and it is used for university admissions.
However, Bocconi and some other universities in Europe also accept the exam. For Bocconi, if students get an adequate enough score, they are exempt from the university’s assessment exam.
This exam has both a Math and Verbal part, and both are of equal value for the final score. There is also an optional essay that will receive is a separate score.
When is the SAT?
The SAT happens internationally a handful of times a year. When you check the dates, be sure that you’re checking the international test dates and not just the USA test dates, because there are some discrepancies.
Here is the international website where you can see all the dates: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/register/international
If there is no “Register” button under the exam date, it means that this test date has either passed or that it will be administered in the United States only.
Where should I register for the SAT?
Here is the website where you can register for the exam: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/register/international
Simply click the “register” button under your test date of choice.
You will have to make a username and password. Be sure to write these down somewhere, because you’ll probably need to log in to this website several times.
The registration process is really long. It can take up to 40 minutes to complete. The important thing to remember is that you can skip all the fields without the asterisk (*). This will save you a lot of time.
During the registration process, there will be an option to add a score explanation report for an additional fee. I do not recommend paying for this report. It is not very helpful and really doesn’t tell you anything useful (sorry College Board!).
At the end, you will have to add a passport-style photo (don’t worry you can just take this on your phone), and finally pay to complete the registration!
SAT FEES SAT without essay: $52 + International Fee ($49) = $101 SAT with essay: $68 + International Fee ($49) = $118 *The prices have increased recently and might increase again
