Before you get to the exercise, have a listen (or two) to the audio about the three stories and try to extract some information as you learn.

Question 1 of 1
1. Question
After listening to the audio above, read the following text and fill in the blanks with the correct answers that you heard.
A: You really have to ((fight)) to get anything in life, those are my ((thoughts)). I studied to be a doctor, and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. After the first year, I spent so much time in the library and in class, I was just ((exhausted)) and didn’t think I could ((go on)). However, after all the hard work, I was ((thrilled)) when I finally graduated and became a real doctor! 5 years later, I’m still ((on top of the world))
B: I get ((frustrated)) when I don’t get results immediately, so sometimes I ((quit)) before I reach my goals. When I was a competitive swimmer, it was hard to spend so much time in the pool. I was always ((on edge)) with my coaches because they pushed me so hard, but when I won the state championship, it was easy to ((forget)) about all those problems.
C: I was so ((annoyed)) because I always watched other people ((take credit)) for my ideas. Working in an office is difficult in that way. I was really ((upset)) when they chose someone else for a big promotion instead of me, so I decided to quit and start my own ((company)), and now we’re a successful international corporation! Nothing ((compares)) to that.
