Question 1 of 1
1. Question
AVOID – BEAR IN MIND – BOOK IN ADVANCE – CROWDS – GET THE MOST OUT OF – IN ADVANCE – MAKE SURE – RECOMMEND – STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST
Boston is one of America’s most historic and vibrant cities. While the city itself is very small and densely populated, its geographic position in the north means very cold winters and mild summers. Because of this, I (strongly advise against) visiting it in the winter, and (recommend) doing it in the spring or fall.
The city is full of universities, as university students compose over 20% of the city’s population. This means that during the summer most of the students leave the city and go back home, so you experience a more peaceful and quieter city. (bear in mind), however, that the summer is baseball season, and the best possible way to interact with local culture is to attend a baseball game. Go Red Sox! If you do decide to buy some tickets for a game at Fenway Park, (make sure) that you buy them months before the game. The local fans absolutely love their team, so tickets are usually sold out very early. You can buy them (in advance) on the club’s website.
Another great idea for a trip to Boston is to make your visit an educational one! The city is filled with educational and historical monuments dealing with colonial times when the US was under British rule. (get the most out of) your trip by hiring a guide that can explain every single little piece of history possible. Wherever you go, it is likely that something important happened in that spot! In my opinion, you should (avoid) visiting Chinatown. It is quite disappointing, as it is much smaller than the Chinatowns in New York, Philadelphia or Washington, D.C.
If you want to eat at a traditional Boston restaurant, try Legal Seafoods, which offers local catches and fresh lobster. You might want to (book in advance) because on a Friday or Saturday night the (crowds) are terrible!
I hope you enjoy your stay in Boston!
Correct
Well done!
Incorrect
Not quite, better luck next time!

Tourism is definitely one of the main reasons that we study English in Milan. The ability to travel and see some of the most beautiful sites in the world is a pleasure that we simply can’t pass up. As we all know too well, however, the need for English when travelling to a foreign country is a must, especially if you want to take in the culture and genuinely experience what the locals live, breath and feel for their countries.
In order to help you with your travel plans in the future, we’ve prepared an English language exercise that deals with describing countries, and today’s focus is the beautiful country of Mexico. As the United States’ neighbor, many of our Native English teachers have spent quite a lot of time in Mexico on vacation for travel, so here is a little recap of some of the details we’ve gathered from the various times spent there. Have a look at the quiz below and try to use the words from the word bank to fill in the text in a proper way:

While some are very popular and touristic, others are (hidden treasures); more difficult to find but just as spectacular.
